Community Guidelines
Avlu is a place where people who choose a healthy life train together and meet. These rules exist so everyone feels safe. They apply to public posts, comments, profiles, events and group chats.
What is not allowed
- Harassment and bullying. Demeaning someone, repeatedly bothering them, continuing to message after being asked to stop, creating groups that target a person.
- Unwanted romantic or sexual approaches. Avlu is not a dating app. Using events or messages for come-ons, sexual comments or obscene messages counts as harassment.
- Hate speech. Demeaning or hostile content based on race, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability, age or body.
- Sexual content and nudity. Pornographic or obscene photos, videos or text. Sportswear is fine; sexualised poses and content are not.
- Violence and threats. Threatening anyone, glorifying violence, encouraging harm to oneself or others.
- Exposing private information. Sharing someone else's address, phone number, workplace, or a photo taken without their permission.
- Fake accounts and impersonation. Pretending to be someone else, using multiple accounts to evade enforcement.
- Spam and unauthorised commercial activity. Mass messages, follow-for-follow, selling products, marketing supplements or programmes, pyramid-scheme (MLM) invitations, turning events into sales meetings.
- Dangerous and illegal content. Promoting the use or sale of illegal drugs, doping or anabolic steroids; dangerous "challenges" that risk injury.
- Posting other people's content as your own.
- Fake or misleading events. Creating events that will not happen, checking in without attending.
- Under-18s. Avlu is for people aged 18 and over; under-18s may not create accounts, and images of under-18s may not be shared in any sexual or inappropriate context.
Body, weight and diet content
No unsolicited comments about anybody else's body or weight. No promotion of extreme caloric restriction. No content that glamorises or encourages disordered eating. Members do not give each other medical or dietetic advice.
In group chats
The rules for public posts apply in chats too.
Safety at in-person meetups
Meet in public places. Tell somebody where you are going. Avlu verifies nobody's identity. Report anybody who behaves inappropriately at an event. In an emergency, call 112 first.
Reporting and blocking
Every post, comment, message, event and account can be reported. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours. Somebody you block cannot see you or interact with you. You can also reach us outside the app at avluapp@gmail.com.
Enforcement
Warning → content removed → temporary suspension → permanent ban.
For serious violations (threats, sexual harassment, content involving under-18s and similar) these steps are skipped and the account is closed immediately. Where necessary, the competent authorities are informed.
